Тема публикуемого материала всегда актуальна и болезненна для всех, кто не равнодушен к истории отечественных стальных магистралей. Несмотря на то, что вопрос организации натурных железнодорожных музеев в нашей стране сдвинут с мертвой точки еще более десяти лет назад, жаркие дискуссии по различным его аспектам не утихают и по сей день. А споры ведутся по всем направлениям — от принципов подбора, сохранения экспонатов и уровня их реставрации до целесообразности создания таких музеев вообще.
На этот раз «дров в топку» полемики подбросила Московская железная дорога, все-таки открыв в столице долгожданный музей железнодорожной техники, имеющий очень длинную и непростую историю создания.
