This book is a collection of articles and talks that show B. F. Skinner’s concerns in the late 1980s, toward the end of his life. Recent Issues in the Analysis of Behavior is divided into three parts. Part One treats theoretical issues, such as what is the proper role of feelings in behavior analysis, what about genes or an initiating self, and what is the etymology of cognitive terms? Part Two is concerned with obstacles to the dissemination of behavior analysis, and how some changes in contingencies could improve education and therapy and solve important behavioral problems that may even threaten the future of the world. Part Three focuses on more personal issues and contains many interesting reflections on Skinner’s own earlier works. An addition to this new edition are Skinner’s most recently published articles, «A World of Our Own» and «Can Psychology Be a Science of Mind?» The book was originally dedicated to all behavior analysts, but its contents should interest anyone concerned with behavioral science.
